GREETINGS

Words or phrases used to acknowledge the presence of someone in a positive way.

Why We Use Them?

We use greetings to show politeness to others, start conversations long or short, and acknowledge others in a positive way.

When to Use Them?

We use greetings when we meet someone whether we know them or not. We use them when we’re answering the phone or the door. We use them when we are walking pass someone, entering the room or space and we use greetings to be polite, make others feel comfortable and welcomed.

Idioms Using Greetings

  1. “Greet with Open Arms” - To welcome someone warmly and enthusiastically.

    "They greeted the new neighbors with open arms, making them feel at home immediately."

  2. “A Warm Welcome” - A friendly and cordial greeting.

    "The host gave us a warm welcome as we entered the party."

  3. “Meet and Greet” - An event or occasion where people are introduced and get to know each other.

    "The company organized a meet and greet for the new employees to introduce themselves."
